Corporate events
In a nutshell
A corporate event is a discrete action a company announces alongside its results: an acquisition, a divestiture, a share repurchase, a dividend, a restructuring or a change of leadership. It records who announced it and, for a deal, the other company involved.
The kinds
| Event | Also called |
|---|---|
| Acquisition | M&A, purchase |
| Divestiture | Sale of a business, spin-off |
| Share repurchase | Buyback |
| Dividend declaration | Dividend, payout |
| Restructuring | Reorganisation, cost reduction programme, layoffs |
| Leadership change | CEO transition, appointment |
Each is a kind of ern:CorporateEvent, so a question about corporate events finds all of them.
What one holds
The company that announced it, a short description, any amount stated and, for an acquisition or divestiture, the counterparty when it is named. Like every extracted fact, it links to the passage it was read from.
