The chat

In a nutshell

The chat answers questions about the companies in the graph. It turns your wording into the ontology's terms, queries the graph and the filings, and cites what it used, which lights up in the graph. It needs an access token, can be wrong, and is not investment advice.

Asking

Type a question in the Chat tab, or click one of the suggestions under the box. Good questions name companies, a sector, or a kind of fact: which companies raised guidance, what risks the banks mentioned, who announced a buyback. Follow-up questions build on the conversation, and New conversation starts afresh.

How it answers

An agent reads your question, resolves its words to the ontology (sales to revenue, buyback to share repurchase), then queries the graph, the metrics filed with the SEC and the text of the releases. Its answer cites the facts and passages it used. Cited nodes light up in the graph, and cited filings open in a new tab, so the chat is not lost.

Access and cost

On the published site the chat needs an access token from the lab's owner. Each answer costs a little, shown beside it, and each token has a daily budget, shown as what is left today. When the opening question of a conversation has been asked before, the earlier answer is reused at no charge and marked as cached.

Limits

Answers are generated by AI from company filings. They can be wrong or incomplete, so check the cited passages. Nothing the chat says is investment advice.
