How to read the graph

In a nutshell

Each coloured cluster is a sector of companies, and the lines between them say how companies relate. Click anything, a company, a sector or a line, to see what it is and where the evidence came from.

The page opens on an overview of every company in the run, the set of companies whose earnings filings the lab has read and turned into facts.

What you see first

  • Clusters on a ring. Each cluster is one sector, with its companies around a hub. See sectors and the ring.
  • Lines. A line joins two things that are related, and its colour says how. Amber, and only amber, means one company depends on another as a supplier or customer. See link types.
  • Grey dots outside the ring. Listed companies the run does not hold, drawn because a company in the run depends on them. See companies outside the run.

What you can do

  • Click a company to open it. Its facts appear around it, then the filings and passages they were extracted from.
  • Click a sector, in the ring or in the row of sectors at the top, to list its companies and its supplier links to other sectors. See sector roll-ups.
  • Hover over a line for a one-line summary, and click it for the full description in the panel.
  • Pick a reporting season at the foot of the graph to replay it day by day. See the reporting season.
  • Rest on a company for its card. On the Pro plan the card shows its price history, and the Market button on the top line shows every company's. See price charts and the market view.
